Line14′s “Biorh” – OUT NOW
By PSR MGMT • Feb 4th, 2010 • Category: Latest Releases
Line14 is one of the most crafty producers to have contributed to PSR, and we simply love everything that he does. His remixes of Organachrome and Jacques C, as Syntax Error, are amongst our deepest and most emotive tunes. On this release he exhibits his psychedelic down-tempo style and tremendous production skills with Biorh. Jonah K has shown respect for the original, whilst giving this tune a rougher vibe, with hefty drums and dubbed-out atmospherics. Rounding out the package is an experimental tech-breaks remix from Matt Gracie.
DJ / Producer reactions:
Jared Simms (MFR) – 7/10, It’s nice to see that the label goes downtempo.
Lexifer – 8/10, The original mix is reminiscent of Meat Beat Manifesto. Cool. Jonah K’s mix drops the tempo but ups the edge, gives it a slightly darker, cinematic flavour. Devious tunes.
DJ Spyne – 7/10, Deep stuff, would likely play the Jonah K remix out.
Philipp Arruda – 8/10, Jonah K remix is my fav. Very unique stuff and well done.
Jeremy Glenn (MAKESHIFT) – 7/10, All very trippy. Nice acid sounds from Mr. Gracie and more smokiness from Jonah K. Biorh finds the rhythmic middle ground and emotes spy movie drama.
DJ / Producer support from:
DJ Harri, Leri Ahel, Makossa, Binny Colvin, Richard Medicineman, Rich Baker, and Miguel Graca.
